Dr. Uma Sharma has more than 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, particularly in late stage drug development.
Dr. Uma Sharma, founder and Chief Scientific Officer at MMS, has more than 25 years of experience in clinical research in the pharmaceutical industry, particularly in late-stage drug development and regulatory approvals. She has successfully led several global applications, including rare disease and orphan drug approvals. Uma is a visionary drug developer who along with her team at MMS has pioneered several new data and submission strategies, including the use of RWE in new drug applications.
As a national finalist and winner of the Entrepreneur of the Year award for Michigan (2020), Uma brings vision and leadership to MMS and supports community efforts as a member of the MichBio board. Her strengths, in particular, are around defining the corporate culture and team efficiencies to establish a globally robust organization has allowed MMS to win multiple awards and be a leader in the field.
Dr. Sharma earned her doctorate in pharmacology from Wayne State University and the University of Michigan.
